Responsibilities:

The primary responsibility of this position is to work on the customer facing corporate site utilizing Javascript, AJAX and DHTML. Your role will be to develop core components of Rearden Commerce's Web-based services marketplace platform. As a contributor in the engineering organization, you will own the architecture, design, and implementation of these components and will be responsible for delivering new capabilities. The success of this position will be measured by the quality, timeliness, and depth of the designs and code produced. You will have the autonomy and responsibility for the following:

- Design and implement key services within the Rearden Commerce platform.

- Ensure that designs meet all functional and non-functional requirements.

- Write automated unit and component tests to guarantee the quality of the product.

- Partner with product management to set the direction of the platform.

- Collaborate with QA, Operations, Support, and Service Delivery teams to meet service quality and time to market goals.

- Contribute to a culture of innovation and quality across the engineering organization.

Qualifications:

- Acute technical competence with a track record of strong coding and individual technical accomplishments.

- Experience building enterprise scale products for a major software vendor. Internet and e-commerce products experience is a plus.

- Java development skills and object oriented design experience, including working knowledge of core libraries and design patterns.

- Experience of e-commerce systems doing web based transactions, including workflow engines, object relational frameworks, message-oriented middleware, and XML web services.

- Keen understanding of database design and SQL, particularly Oracle and MySQL.

- BS/BA in Computer Science or related.

Alfredo´s Interview


Alfredo think thah engineer is the person that design, makes or work with machinery and he likes the design, makes or work with machinery also to manage a group of workers and deal or succeed in doing or producing something. To start to study engineering he need to be good at math, also he need to have management skills in order to be a good engineer and the skills he need to have in order to be a good engineer is to creative and find the perfect solution to every problem. He want to get graduate and find a good job and well pay but He would like to have a job where He can put in practice and develop as a person as a professional. He enjoyed english classes a lot and he liked when he took his degrees. He recommend engineering because he could work in different position in a company depending on your personal skills and is a great profession and he think thah The most difficult part of being an engineering student is making sacrifices like studying all night in order to have good grades.

A: Engineering is a career where you have to be aplicated, and know very much about number and mathematics.

2. What influenced you to pursue Computer Engineering?
A: I always liked the computers, the computers programs and the mathematics, so I decided to study a career where I could do all what I want.

3. Could you please describe the educational process required to become an Engineer?
A: First, you have to take a test where you have to decide what is the career that you want to study, then you have to register in the career, after you starts, you have to be very responsable and have a good grades.

4. What are the skills you need to be a good engineer?
A: You have to be very responsable, know how to resolve a problem lonely and in group, know very much about computers and numbers too.

5. What job considerations were you looking for after you completed your education?
A: Work in my own company where I can do all the things what I have learned from the university.

6. What's something of your school life that you enjoy the most?
A: Getting good grades in English and in Mathematics too.

7. From your perspective, what is the most difficult part of being an engineering student?
A: There are a lot of hard things that you have to do, you have to study very much and be very good with numbers.

8. What are your plans for the future?
A: I want to graduate with good grade, and then I want to go to live to Canada and work there.

9. Point out your most personally gratifying moment in Engineering school.
A: When I passed geometry and fisica.

10. Why would you recommend Engineering as a career?
A: Because it is a career where you learn, numbers, professional and individual skills, environment works. In my opinion Engineering is a complete career that you have to be very creative.

I´m going to introduce my classmates. Alfredo Figuera is the guy next to me, he is 24 years old and he is studing Industrial engineering at URBE, he love soccer and his favorite team is manchester united and he want to be a good engineer and live in england with his family. the other guy is Jorge Besson and he is 24 years old and he studies Industrial engineering at URBE, he love soccer and his favorite team is Real Madrid but the most interesting thing for him is drink, smoke and go out with his friends.
